Cannondale Jekyll Test
We don t expect a company like cannondale to blindly follow industry trends but this did stand out to testers.
Cannondale jekyll test. The jekyll s aggressive geometry lends confidence when railing turns. The jekyll 29 has a 355 millimeter bottom bracket height with just 16 millimeters of bottom bracket drop. After taking a win at the notoriously rough mammoth progrt downhill course under marco osborne the new cannondale jekyll is proving to be a head turner with a complete geometry revamp updated rear shock tune 27 5 inch wheels more travel and the unique carbon lefty supermax pbr fork. The bike has a lively ride and the low weight build works surprisingly well with the lower travel hustle mode.
Some of the other bikes in the test have up to 30 millimeters of bb drop all of which had more travel. Cannondale lengthened the top tube slackened the head angle and shortened the chainstays in order to give the new jekyll a more nimble feel. The jekyll falls under the enduro category in cannonade s lineup but offers 20mm less travel than the 27 5 inch model. Our test rig sat right in the middle with a retail price of 5550.
The scott 900 sports full carbon while the 910 shares the jekyll. Cannondale s jekyll 1 27 5 is the company s top of the line enduro bike that delivers an almost no compromise build for 8 200 while expensive the price is actually quite competitive with the kind of build it comes with. The jekyll 29 is the bike cannondale should have made a few seasons ago but in the ever changing world of mountain bikes i won t fault them for being a little late to the party.
